.. und um es gleich vorweg zu nehmen: Sitzen. Passen. Gehen ins Ohr, und fallen auch nicht heraus.
Wir waren im Vorfeld durchaus skeptisch, da wir bisher diverse Kopfhörer meist mit Ohrbügel hatten.

Wer Apple mag, wird auch die AirPods mmögen. Der Klang ist Bose-typisch, uns gefällt's einfach gut.
Wenn Sie Ihre Erwartungshaltung vor dem Kauf abwägen, werden Sie mit den AirPods zufrieden sein.

Die Kopplung funktioniert einfach, die Bedienung ist kinderleicht. So, wie man es von Apple kennt.
Bluetooth am iPhone aktivieren, AirPods in das Ladecase legen und den Deckel anschließend öffnen.
Auf dem Phone wird nun eine Einrichtungsanimation angezeigt. Auf "Verbinden" und "Fertig" tippen.

Akku-Anzeige: Home-Bildschirm auf dem iPhone anzeigen lassen, das Ladecase mit AirPods aufklappen.
Dann wird eine Animation mit den AirPods und dem Ladecase und dem jeweiligen Ladestatus angezeigt.

Die (wenigen) Einstellungen der AirPods lassen sich ebenfalls kinderleicht anpassen, ganz ohne App.
Ladecase öffnen, iPhone: unter Einstellungen > Bluetooth dann auf das "i" neben den AirPods tippen.
Hier lassen sich die AirPods umbennen, und auch das Verhalten für das AirPods-Doppeltippen anpassen:
Siri-Unterstützung; Audioinhalte wiedergeben, pausieren oder beenden; nächster bzw. vorheriger Titel.
Wer mag, kann die Einstellung des Mikrofons ändern: automatisch wechseln, linker oder rechter AirPod.
Und auch die automatische Ohrerkennung lässt sich dort aktivieren bzw. deaktivieren. Das war's dann.

Unter Einstellungen > Info > AirPods sind Infos zu Seriennummer, Modell und FW-/HW-Version zu finden.

Voraussetzung für die neuen AirPods 2: iPhone, iPad oder iPod touch mit mindestens iOS 12.2-Version.
Apple Watch mit watchOS 5.2, Apple TV mit tvOS 12.2, Mac mit macOS 10.14.4 oder höherer Version.

Singing in the rain? Eher nicht. AirPods und Ladecase sind weder wasserdicht noch wassergeschützt.
Insofern sollten Sie also darauf achten, dass auch keine Feuchtigkeit in deren Öffnungen gelangt.
Nutzt man die AirPods beim Training, den Schwweiß mit einem trockenen Mikrofasertuch abwischen.

Der Preis ist Apple. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist unserer Meinung nach nicht ganz ausgewogen.
Für uns hat sich der Kauf dennoch gelohnt. Man wird mit einem satten Sound ohne Aussetzer belohnt.
Die AirPods sind Wireless, lassen sich im Ladecase laden, das selbst kontaktlos geladen werden kann.
Das dauert natürlich deutlich länger als über das Lightning-Kabel, das übrigens mitgeliefert wird.

Die neuen Airpods sehen genauso wie ihre Vorgänger aus, optisch hat sich demnach nichts geändert.
Dafür zählen die inneren Werte. Apple den verbesserten, leistungseffizienteren Chip H1 eingebaut.

Die AirPods sind alltagstauglich, eignen sich prima unterwegs, im Büro, beim Wellness, auf Reisen.
Ideal ist dabei, dass die AirPods im Ladecase sicher und dazu noch äußerst kompakt aufbewahrt sind.

Gut gefallen hat uns bzw. den Gesprächspartnern auch die Freisprech-Funktion. Verständlich und klar.
Wir empfinden die Verarbeitung als wertig, ebenfalls ausgezeichnet ist auch die Qualität beim Case.

Preislich macht es dzt. keinen Unterschied, wo man die AirPods kauft, wenn sie denn erhältich sind.
Selbst bei Apple sind momentan rar. Wir hatten Glück und konnten die AirPods bei Amazon vorbestellen.
Wer direkt bei Apple bestellt, kann das Case mit einer persönlichen Gravur individualisieren lassen.

Von uns gibt's insgesamt gesehen 4 Sterne. Bis auf den Preis haben uns Sound und Leistung überzeugt.
Die Akku-Laufzeit ist gut. Einzig und allein ein Noise-Cancelling wäre für uns noch wünschenswert.

Nur zum Joggen nutzen wir unsere SoundSport von Bose. Dafür sind die AirPods einfach nicht ideal.
Denn dank der Aufsätze bzw. Ohreinsätze aus Silikon sitzen die SoundSport einfach sicherer im Ohr.
Bei einem schnellen Lauf oder Sprint würden die AirPods wohl deutlich eher aus den Ohren rutschen.

Sollte sich unser bisheriger Eindruck beizeiten ändern, werden wir das gerne entsprechend ergänzen.

Super Sound und sitzen auch gut und fest in meinen kleinen Ohren. Was ich aber bemängel, das sie nicht mal ein Meeting mit 1,5 Stunden aushalten. Sorry Apple, aber sowas geht für das Geld nicht.

These Apple AirPods really are all they’re cracked up to be.

Most importantly they produce great sound.

The one thing that concerned me before I used them was, they could drop out of my ear and I would lose one while out, down a drain or something! But they really do fit comfortably and securely.

They connect to your iPhone or iPad in seconds by simply holding them next to the device and lifting the lid.

They also connect to other Bluetooth devices, the newer the device the easier. This is slightly different, you open the lid and press the button on the rear of the AirPod case until it flashes white, this makes it visible on the device’s Bluetooth screen, where you can then press connect.

You get a readout on your connected Apple device of the current charge status of each individual pod and the case.

The case holds additional charge to start recharging the pods, even when it is not connected to a power source.

A charge goes 4/5 hours, with the case apparently carrying 24 hours of charge, I have not had to test the latter fully.

When the case is opened a light comes on. It is green to indicate that the case has plenty of charge, it is orange when it has less than one full charge left.

The case and pods are charged by a lightning connector on its base, a lead is included in the box, they can also be charged wirelessly by a QI charger.

Individual pods can be set up to have a ‘double tap’ function, I have my left one to call Siri and the right to pause/play. Other options are next track or previous track, you can also turn this function off.

Play is also paused by removing one pod from your ear.

These AirPods are even more useful in this crisis when we are doing more by phone and video conferencing and even exercising online.

I also do Vine reviews for Amazon, where they send me items free to test, I want to make it clear that these AirPods were not free, they were purchased.

Yes these are expensive - Let’s get that over with.
However, convenience and ease of use outweigh the price considerations. I can’t believe I waited so long before buying a pair.
Since lockdown I’ve been using my wired headphone to make/receive calls leaving me hands free but the wires were always in the way or tangled. Not any more - It’s a revelation !!
Obviously I also use it for music and films and again being wire free is so convenient.
I don’t use “Hey Siri” but the double tap to
move to the next song is useful.

Sound quality - it’s perfectly acceptable and commensurate with the wires EarPods.

Microphone - considering the microphone is located by you ear it’s fine. It can sound a little echoey to the other party and pick up extraneous background noise but again perfectly acceptable.

Comfort - i chose not to buy the Pro version of these as I can’t get on with the rubber grommets and find those uncomfortable. These on the other hand just sit naturally in the ear and feel comfortable. They’ve not fallen out yet, but I haven’t run in them.

Pairing - “They just work” to coin a phrase. I have paired them with more than one device so do find they connect to the “other one” (i.e last used) sometimes but it’s no hardship to click connect and then they work consistently.
They also connect to my Windows 10 PC.

Wired v Wireless charging - I bought the wireless charging version simply because I will be purchasing a mat to get rid of the plethora of wires that I have lying around for my various devices.
However, I’ve been charging using a wire for the time being as that’s just as convenient.
Buy the wired version and save £30 if you undecided. Charging is quick and only has to be done infrequently.

Battery life - I never listen to anything for more than a few hours (eg a film) so whenever they are out of the ear they are charging in the case and always ready for use.

I’m happy with my purchase and wish I’d done it earlier.

I have spent many years searching for the perfect headphone. I have come close a few times and been relatively contented by the manufacturers offerings ( on a reasonable budget) I’m really sensitive to scratchy sounding headphones, I listen to Rock music and it must be played loud. (It’s the law) My 75 year old neighbours that complain about poor hearing are miraculously cured whenever I put music on. (Bless them but they do like to complain) so I continued my search for something I could listen without causing “alarm and distress” (slight over reaction if you ask me) I have pondered often about these headphones, I do like Apple but never really took to the headphones that were supplied with the phone. I painstakingly went through reviews and started to notice people were saying the sound quality was good. I had a long talk with myself about cost and what if I don’t like them..... I am so glad the throw caution to the wind side won. I really am happy with them, I have no idea what they are like to run in as I’m far too lazy for that. I am enjoying the calming sounds of Slipknot without causing alarm or what ever it was she said ( she was sweating and shaking at the time) I am also really impressed with them with all phone calls I’m having and zooming rooms or what ever it’s called. I don’t have any echo with them and having asked people lucky enough to be on my call list they aren’t aware I’m wearing headphones. I have been able to chat for a few hours whilst gardening and my boss is completely unaware.
So to summarise, I would recommend them and I’m glad I bought them. Are they the perfect headphone? I’m not sure, I would like longer battery time and would like not to have so many calls to make so I can just listen to music.

I debated for a long time whether to purchase the genuine Apple AirPods for a long time, whether I'd actually use them enough to justify the cost of them, or whether I could just buy a cheap/fake pair which would do the same job. Initially I actually ordered a cheap pair from Wish and knew straight away I'd regret it, so I ordered these, and boy am I glad I did.

Now, I already own noise-cancelling over the ear headphones so I wasn't after a set of NC earbuds. I wanted something that was portable, stylish, comfortable and just something I could throw in when walking the dog or looking after the baby to listen to a quick song/podcast/video whilst being able to hear some ambient noise and these do the trick. The best thing for me is how quick you can take them out your pocket, stick them in your ear and listen to something. They synced seamlessly with my iPhone 11 and continue to do so. The sound is good enough for what I want as is the battery, which I've never been caught short with yet.

My cheaper AirPods eventually arrived and whilst they look the same, the sound quality and ease in pairing/syncing/operation is nowhere near as good as the real deal.

If you are undecided whether to pay a lot more money for the real deal or spend less on a fake/cheaper pair I would definitely recommend you just invest in the genuine product and you will rest assured that you did the right thing.
