***REVISED REVIEW*** After 4 months of use, the head strap has snapped

My original review is below, and what i say in it still stands, the sound and quality feel of these headphones is very good... however... it seems their durability isn't... the headband has snapped after only four months right at the center point. This means the headphones don't sit tightly on my head anymore and sound quality is lost.
I therefore change this review from a 5 star to a 2 star... for the money these should last a lot longer...

I bought these headphones after having a generic gaming headset for a couple years... I really wish I had gotten these sooner. The sound is awesome, deep base, crisp vocals and everything in-between. The ear pads are soft to wear and block out background noise really well. My friends on discord say my mic sounds a lot better too. The synthesized 7.1 surround is great in games too, made playing destiny 2 a whole lot better.

This is the headset recommended by friends for gaming. As I am a content creator, it is a very important addition to my setup. However, after spending an entire day trying to get them to function because support in the UK DOES NOT EXIST because whomever coded their website will not allow for 5 digit area codes, as we have in the UK, and if you live outside of the US and Canada, online support tickets are your ONLY source of help. So I had to send the entire day researching the internet. I found the same issue I had, microphone not working in Minecraft had been reported by 377 other people on the Microsoft website. So at this point I spoke to a Microsoft adviser, who told me, "We are well aware of this issue, we are still trying to fix it so you will have to wait until our next update (no date given) for your headphones to work.
So Razor blew it, and then Microsoft blew it too! Tat is why, I am currently giving them only one star, as I have just spent £50 on hardware that I cannot even use, and the company that sold them to me has set up a perfect website system where they are not contactable. Very shading business dealings by both Razer and Microsoft. This is my first experience of a Razer product, so far I would not recommend to anyone, because these are pretty much specifically built for windows 10 64 bit (if you want the virtual 7.1 to work at all) and currently they will not work on that operating system, except as mere headphones, but NOT as a headset!
In my book that is an old fashioned swindle!

Additional. I was told by Microsoft that this issue would be fixed with their next update, it was not, now my computer will not recognise the headphones at all, and they do weird things to my computer when I plug them in like stopping videos from playing and generally killing audio on my computer. Even though the company offers zero support for the UK because their website is incorrectly coded, they have a facebook page, but they are ignoring my repeated requests for help on there.
Eventually they got back to me on the facebook page ad gave me incorrect information on how to fix the headphones. They will not reply again, so not only is this dodgy company trying to sell a device that they say is built for windows 10, but does not work on windows 10 at all, and they do not care if their product works or not.

ich war großer Fan des alten Razer Kraken Headsets. Über USB kam ein guter Sound und das virtuelle 7.1 surround war auch ein gut funktionierendes Feature. Mein altes Kraken Headset ist nun 5 Jahre alt und fing an zu spinnen weshalb ich mich um Ersatz bemühte und dachte, mit dem Namesnachfolger kann man nicht falsch laufen. Da habe ich mich gewaltig geirrt.
Das Headset fühlt sich durch das gesamte Plastik bereits billig an. Dafür ist das Headset sehr leicht.
Die Klangqualität ist schlechter als beim alten Headset und das virtuelle surround ist fast gleich auf mit Stereo, trotz der Installation von der entsprechenden Surround Software.
Definitiv würde ich von diesem Headset abraten. Es ist sein Geld nicht wert.

I hated this headset so much, First of all its really uncomfortable after an hour of wearing it, it was causing me to have breakouts in my skin around my ears and my neck maybe an allergic reaction to the horrible material on the ear cuffs, The mic is crap everyone was complaining about how quiet i am so i had to turn everything up full. the mic has to be basically in your mouth to pic up sound its the worst headset i've owned. which is sad because every other Razer product ive owned has been great. I have recently replaced this headset with the HyperX cloud II which are amazing and well worth spending the extra money on.

I am very excited to finally saved up for my first Razer gaming headphone.
I have previously used a smaller brand of headphone at only around £25.
So, at around 3 times the price, I am truly expecting something special.
However, I got to say I am kind of underwhelmed.
The actual box it comes in looks really cool with a black and green colour scheme.
But once you actually open it – it’s a very generic looking all black headphone (see attached pics)
Even the Razer logo is in a matt black so it really lacks any design flair.
There are other colour choices but the green looks really garish and the pink is just not for me.
Anyway, I am all about the sound so I can forgive the looks.
But here is where it disappoints as well.
Its not a bad sound but objectively when I compare this to my previous £20 Wave headphone side by side, I genuinely prefer the cheaper headphone.
The cheaper brand actually has richer sound with more details and that has both Bluetooth and wired whereas the Razer is limited to just wired.
The mic is about the same on both even though the Razer has an extended bendable mic.
But it was not vastly superior or clearer in anyway.
My mates on discord and teamspeak does not notice any difference in terms of clarity.
The Razer also seems to have used less foam or padding on their earcups.
The other brand was far more comfortable with greater range of flex in the headband and breathable materials.
I am sorry to say I really feel I am just paying 3 times the normal price for the Razer name and marketing.
All those mega million dollar sponsorship and show and booth babes must come from somewhere I suppose.
